Backwards. You get in shape by boxing — that's the whole point. Beginner classes meet you at your current fitness level and build from there. Waiting until you're "ready" just means never starting.
No. On day one you learn stance and footwork and hit bags and pads. You will not be sparring. At a real gym, sparring is optional, earned over time, and always controlled and supervised. Nobody is going to put a beginner in to get hurt.

You will not be perfect, and nobody expects you to be. The coaches scale everything to you, in the same room where more experienced members are working harder — that's how you improve fastest.

Comfortable athletic clothes, clean training shoes, and water. You don't need any gear for your first class — hand wraps and gloves come later once you continue.
No. Beginners learn technique on bags and pads. Sparring is optional, only for members who've built the skills for it, and is always controlled and supervised.
